John Travolta Action Movie American Metal Acquired By Saban Films

A new action-thriller starring John Travolta is on the way, courtesy of Saban Films. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has picked up the American Travolta Metal-led film for worldwide distribution in the Cannes market. The film also stars Stephen Dorff ( Lame ), Shiloh Fernández ( Evil Dead ), Ashley Benson ( Pretty Little Liars ), and Kevin Dillon ( Entourage ). Nicholas Maggio is the writer and director, marking his feature debut. It is produced by Corey Large and Bernie Gewissler of 308 Entertainment in association with Bondit Media Capital. The filmmakers are planning a 2023 release now that the film has their backing. Directed by Shane Dax Taylor (The Grey, Provinces of Night), Best Man is set on a remorse resort amid a wedding where mercenaries take control of the property. To combat the situation, the groom, the best man, and their best friend must work together to defeat the terrorists and save the hostages. Nicolas Cage Western ‘The Old Way’ Lands U.S. Deal At Saban Films

Saban Films has acquired North American and other overseas territory rights to The Old Way, the Western from director Brett Donowho that stars Nicolas Cage. The distributor is targeting a theatrical and VOD release for the pic sometime during the fourth quarter of 2022. The deal marks the the second recent pickup of a Cage-toplined pic for Saban Films, which also snagged rights to the frontier epic Butcher’s Crossing written and directed by Gabe Polsky and starring Cage as an 1870s buffalo hunter.
