Saban Films has secured global distribution rights to the crime thriller “Clean Up Crew” in all territories but Spain and Italy. “The Survivalist” helmer Jon Keeyes directs Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Oscar winner Melissa Leo and Oscar nominee Antonio Banderas in the tale of a crime scene clean-up crew that finds a briefcase full of cash on a routine job. Saban Films and Altitude have expanded their global distribution deal beyond the U.K. and Ireland. The alliance, which was originally set up in 2020, sees Saban and Altitude Film Sales partner on a slate of 10 to 12 films annually, which Altitude will bring to market beginning at this month’s American Film Market.    The initial lineup includes the Jason Momoa Western “The Last Manhunt,” “Battle for Saipan,” directed by Brandon Slagle and the action-comedy heist “High Heat,” directed by Zacj Golden and starring Olga Kurylenko and Don Johnson.  Read the Article

Saban Films announced today that they have secured the worldwide rights (except for Italy) to Yale Entertainment’s The Last Girl. Directed by Jon Keeyes (The Survivalist) and written by Charles Burnley, The Last Girl recently wrapped production in Ireland and stars Alice Eve (“Belgravia,” Star Trek Into Darkness), Shelley Hennig (Unfriended, “Teen Wolf”) and Academy Award®-nominee Antonio Banderas (Pain and Glory). Saban is planning an early 2023 release. The Last Girl follows a private investigator (Eve) who’s forced into a dangerous alliance with a killer (Hennig) in order to uncover a quiet town’s grisly criminal underbelly and clear the name of her mentor (Banderas), who is implicated in the crimes. Saban Films announced today that they have secured the U.S. and Canadian rights to award-winning director and writer Matthew Gentile’s debut feature film American Murderer. The film stars Tom Pelphrey, Ryan Phillippe, Idina Menzel, and Jacki Weaver.  Paul Schneider, Shantel VanSanten, Moises Arias and Kevin Corrigan round out the cast.  Saban Films is planning an October 2022 release. Saban Films has secured worldwide distribution rights to Jason Momoa’s forthcoming Western “The Last Manhunt.” Featuring a largely Native American ensemble cast, the movie follows the true story of the outlaw Willie Boy. Set in 1909, when a reputed murder sparks a Shakespearean tragedy, Momoa’s Willie accidentally shoots his love interest’s father after a confrontation gone wrong. With President Taft coming to town, a local sheriff leads two Native American trackers seeking justice for their fallen tribal leader. In the film, the anonymous caller threatens to kill the host’s entire family while he is on air. A new action-thriller starring John Travolta is on the way, courtesy of Saban Films. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has picked up the American Travolta Metal-led film for worldwide distribution in the Cannes market. The film also stars Stephen Dorff ( Lame ), Shiloh Fernández ( Evil Dead ), Ashley Benson ( Pretty Little Liars ), and Kevin Dillon ( Entourage ). Nicholas Maggio is the writer and director, marking his feature debut. It is produced by Corey Large and Bernie Gewissler of 308 Entertainment in association with Bondit Media Capital. The filmmakers are planning a 2023 release now that the film has their backing. Directed by Shane Dax Taylor (The Grey, Provinces of Night), Best Man is set on a remorse resort amid a wedding where mercenaries take control of the property. To combat the situation, the groom, the best man, and their best friend must work together to defeat the terrorists and save the hostages. The pic stars Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace) and Don Johnson (Miami Vice). It takes place over a single night and follows Ana (Kurylenko), a meticulous chef with a hidden past, and her husband Ray (Johnson), a schmoozy serial restaurateur.
